Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

so they're gonna share their

Debbie:

glow in the dark, you're gonna need a little extra something.

charlie ponger:

So I have

debbie:

you never do come out with those woods.

Charlie:

In my hand, I've got the recovery balm, and I have the drops that you put underneath your tongue. And let me tell you the inflammation goes right out of your body. I love this product. Even though that Sophie, every time I call her she can't remember who she doesn't. She hasn't put me know who you are. She doesn't put me in her contacts yet. She's like,

Luz Michelle:

Oh, yeah, like you're in that category. He goes, Oh, yeah.

debbie:

Oh, capital H capital H oh, what a great small company. Right?

Luz Michelle:

The bomb smells delicious. Very fresh. Yeah. It is

charlie debbie luz:

the bomb. The bomb. Alright everyone. Welcome to the official teenager. Yeah, maybe. So how are you Deb?

debbie:

I'm good. I've been through one eye cataract operation since I last seen you. I love the drugs they put you out with? Oh my gosh, the guy's like, Hi, I'm here to talk to you about a fine just. The only time you relax is when you're out that deep.

Luz Michelle:

Level 1111.

charlie:

And Luiz, how are you? I'm good. I haven't seen you guys in a while.

Luz Michelle:

We Yeah, we took a while I

debbie:

see you better in my left eye. You know, it's amazing how the eyes are you're really the window to the world and now that they work for you or don't depends on how you see the world. And I was looking at light through a dirty fishbowl. I didn't realize how bad it

debbie luz charlie:

bag. Yeah, that's how Monet saw everything. Did you know that? No. Yeah, that's why he was such a beautiful artist because he had cataracts in his holy cow.

debbie:

Yeah. And so it's perfect sense. That's how I was seeing everything.

charlie:

Yeah, that's Monet's eyes. So he that's what he painted. Pretty cool, right?

Luz Michelle:

You learned something new every day.

debbie:

You know, I'm a little bummed though. Why? Because now I fixed the sucker. I can't be a painter. Son of a gun, bring

Luz Michelle:

back the old one.

debbie:

Luz, you got great glasses. You know, glasses are very much a part of a fashion statement these days. Right? And some people have them so they can look good and see good and see at night and far and close. And they asked you when they're going to put a new Do you know what a cataract surgery is? Right? They take off your old lens of your eyeball. And then they put a new lens on your eyeball. What do you think to do?

Charlie and Debbie:

I have no idea what do you just tell you to take off?

Luz Michelle:

No matter what it's not going to sound pleasant. Or youthful seen

charlie ponger:

ager?

debbie:

I know. But I will tell you there are young people who have had this chemo causes counteracts tons right. And I didn't understand they actually go in which is so gross. The idea of it, which is why you need the stuff that knocks you out. They you know, make some stitches in your eyeball. You can't even think about it. They say Oh, you'll be awake because you're awake.

Luz Michelle:

Yeah. Oh my do you have to keep your eyes steady? Are they? Yeah, like

debbie:

you don't remember. It's like it's over before anyway. But anyway, the eyes do. There's so much about people's eyes that determine whether or not you want to be their friend. Yeah, I can understand that. Like I want to be your friend. Because look at your eyes. Yeah, you have you were connecting it to I sure do you do when you have a toast with somebody show me the eyeball. You have to look in the eye and look me in the eye.

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

What do you see when you look into someone's eyes?

Luz Michelle:

I don't know. Charlie.

debbie:

Charlie, look at me. Yeah. I see surprise.

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

Do you see fear? Zero? Do you see? sexiness?

debbie:

Oh, you've got a sexy throwing out bait No. Bait. I'm gonna tell you your eyes smile. Oh happy I do they smile. Happy young eyes and lose your eyes are are knowing. Knowing Yes.

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

And your eyes were her

debbie:

eyes. You're a little small and right now. I used to try and talk with my eyes when we were in the pandemic when he had nothing else to talk to a stranger with it was all about the eye contact. Yeah, it was very hard to like over smile with your eyes over a mask you like you know like all about the I was all about the eyes and no one was looking at anybody. So if you did catch somebody would be like you try and like give them those the whole wall with the eyeball? Yeah, just squint. Yeah, you squint you like oh,

charlie:

do you ever pick up bad vibes from people that like you look at you look at him. Yeah. And then you look at their eyes and you're like, this fucking guy's evil. I actually

debbie:

would have not decided not to do This is with a guy because after meeting him and I said to other people, is it me or is this guy has no soul to God? You know, you could say nothing. You could

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

see it right? I'm not gonna see. And then just the opposite was with other people like, I think I've been friends with this person, like my whole life and a past life and everything else, right?

debbie:

Oh yeah, you're

charlie:

seeing them and then how about romantically? When you meet someone that you fall in love with? And you look into their eyes and you just know that that's sort of the right person right off the bat. It's never happened.

debbie:

You catch somebody's eye across a bar again, that happen across

Luz Michelle:

13 till 41. I love him. That's so great. Right. And then

debbie:

there's the Italians with the evil eye. Yeah. What was that about? That evil? I knew the evil eye. Oh, really?

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

You know, it's interesting. Kids don't have any of that stuff. I don't think

debbie:

because they haven't read a book. Yeah. When

Luz Michelle:

I left there was in library bucks, though. Yeah, I love the smell. I love the texture. You know,

debbie:

the other night I went to vote, I saw the most amazing thing in the lobby of the school so much. So I took a picture of it. It was a it was a book vending machine. What? Yes. And it was and I so I stopped and I said, What is this? And they said, Well, we do a thing with the kids every every week, the kids who show good manners or go out of their way to help other kids. We give out we choose maybe 10. And we give them tokens and they can come and get themselves a free book as a reward. It goes just like that. They're like so excited, like they won the lottery. And they make sure that by the end of the year, every kid has had a token and has had a chance to get a free book out of the vending machine. Oh, sure. I loved it. I want to call the company I love love. Genius. Let's like

Luz Michelle:

throughout Westchester they have those little houses that are little libraries and it's give a book take a book. Yeah, I love that. I love that. Oh, yeah, that is nice. It when you see that

debbie:

I made a mistake though. I took a book left some shoes. My car was getting full of stuff I wanted to donate.

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

Just said Say it again. Picture this

debbie:

journal. Oh, there you go. Picture all the songs that make you think about eyeballs, eyes, eyes. There are 100 songs that have been written and recorded that have to do with people's eyes.

charlie:

Just give me a brown eyed girl. Oh, Van Morrison.

debbie:

That's my song because every time it will come on I go brown eyed girl because I had brown eyes and I always wanted blue. It was the only way I could celebrate the problem. Brown Eyed girl have a billy Eilish in with ocean eyes. That was her hit song. Oh, ocean eyes. Frankie Valli can't take my eyes off. Are you?

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

One of the

07:44

greatest I have to say Do you guys know the humor behind brown eyed girl? Oh, that they say it's I might say the word wrong. Is that in? usam? Like, it's not really about the brown eyes. It's actually about the butt. Oh,

Debbie:

what are you talking? Yeah, so

Luz Michelle:

now you have to listen to the song and just keep in mind when they say Brown Eyed girl. They're actually talking about her battle. No. Yeah, I've

debbie:

been yelling this song for years. Like

Luz Michelle:

I knew Yeah, that one Do you mind is students fine. I'm like, what's that word? What's

debbie:

the new window? Spell it i n know and do spelling gym. But now I gotta be embarrassed because I'm yelling brown eyed girl. And that's really about my butt. I'm like, I

charlie:

have to tell her. It's not about your butt. It's about a butthole

debbie:

Oh, great. Let's get specifics calling in. Hang on.

Luz Michelle:

Oh, here we go. Yeah,

charlie:

wait a minute. Hey, Bob. I gotta call him I think What About Bob? Dr. Bob was calling in Dr. Bob. Hi, Doctor. Here we go. Hi, Doctor. Yeah,

debbie:

if you'd like a famous eye doctor. Yeah,

charlie:

he's a famous AI doctor. How do you like that? How I propose that good. He

debbie:

just happened to know we were talking about eyeballs today and eyes and all things

Luz Michelle:

related know that we even have guests to talk about our top.

charlie:

Oh, wait. So now I gotta try to figure out how to blammo and hold on with this. On the whole I'm going to stop the thing. So Deb, yes. Tell me more. Let me ask you a question. Because you got your eye done with the cataract thing all of a sudden you're you're like, you're very youthful.

debbie:

That's just one side. I'm getting the other eye done this week. And then I'll be like, totally useful, but I'm going to be honest. It had the opposite effect. As you know, both of you and all my listeners that know me. I am delusionally young. The most frightening thing that happened when I came out of the surgery was I was able to see I'm full of shit. My job could not ugly. my rearview mirror was showing me back what was really going on. Oh yeah, my wrinkles are like crevices. Oh my god. What was I thinking about? Dr. Bob, do you have any Botox that you give with the eye operations because it's not nice to wake up and see what's really going on.

Dr Bob:

Well, first of all, I'm not an ophthalmologist or a medical doctor. So the answer is no. And you know the word with the word Botox comes from

debbie:

botulism and toxin.

Dr Bob:

You got it. In fact that 40 years ago, there's a potato soup called bombI. Ball fishy swamp soup.

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

It sounds like you're in Guam. I want to hear about the soup. I know. But I can't hear could

Luz Michelle:

have said tonight. You could hear.

Dr Bob:

Is that better?

debbie:

Yes. Hi, Bob. We hear you. You said Charlie, had you teed you up? Was this great doctor, I doctor you phony.

Dr Bob:

You won't tell him listen to this crap, Charlie, when I'm on the phone anyway. No, no, actually, I'm very enthusiastic. Let me ask you a question. Yeah. When you had the when you had the surgery, did they go with the standard? Lens? Or did they try to get you one that you could see foreign near with?

debbie:

Well, it's nice to hear to ask that question. I had the choice. And by the way, you're welcome to the show. And I heard nice things about you. I don't love you know. It all shakes out. They gave me the use.

Dr Bob:

Do you speak any English? No,

debbie:

I speak English.

Dr Bob:

So I could say some stuff. And you all know what the hell I'm saying that?

debbie:

I do. Speak idiot. So be careful.

Luz Michelle:

Do you speak English now my grandmother than

debbie:

they do give you an option. I Charlie and Lou's have never had the experience. So they don't know that they take what a cataract operation is, is they take off your old eyeball lens and they give you a new lens. And he said Why am I getting this Charlie?

charlie:

Because I love that there's is a momento it's a magnifying glass really

debbie:

dirty now that I can see what's going on. And you're asking me where's that mean? And they gave me an option to get just a regular one or a stepped up one which is which has like glasses in it where they corral or vision. But I came out with 2020 Just on the on the on the basic I got the basic plan. And I just got 2020 Did I make a good decision?

Dr Bob:

Probably, if you're used to wearing glasses, if you're used to wearing glasses, you know what you're gonna probably have to do is wear reading glasses now.

debbie:

Yeah, that's not a big deal. It's no big deal at all. Because

Dr Bob:

you're used to it. You know, you got to look at some people don't want to wear glasses worth anything. As far as that's concerned. No.

debbie:

See, the reason why they're reading glasses is they hide the underride bags that I haven't had time to get. I know

Dr Bob:

that right. I know that. You don't have to tell me anything. I don't know. I haven't even met you yet. But I know that

debbie:

very dark. In fact, what the one thing I think you should work on. I know you're an innovative kind of guy. I've seen videos of you. You're pretty cool. What is your exact qualification? If you're not an eye doctor and we think you are?

Dr Bob:

I am an eye doctor. I'm just I'm Thomas manual, a lot more about function than the ophthalmologist who did the surgery. Ah, no, I

debbie:

know you're smart. In other words, they

Dr Bob:

know about Zs surgery, and so forth. And I think it's great and they have a basic understanding of refraction. I mean, everything is automatically done for them. But you got to look at the I mean, Danish that's all

Luz Michelle:

I'm hearing and paying attention. Okay, I

Dr Bob:

will stop at this is my coffee break again since I get a break for coffee and so forth. Are you in

debbie:

another symptom ology as we speak? Yeah, no, I'm in between patients. You are between patients. Oh, okay. So some people are waiting in rooms like I was earlier today. I wonder how long they're gonna be with the other patient. Danish. Doctor, Jelena. What a podcast.

charlie:

Dr. Bob, you're in. Where are you in Kokomo. What's the name of the town?

Dr Bob:

Kokomo Rancho Cucamonga. See.

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

How could you remember that?

debbie:

You don't really live in Greenwich. Village Jack

Dr Bob:

Benny. Yes. And you say for the train in home, Azusa, Cucamonga, Rancho Cucamonga.

debbie:

Oh, I like the whole name of it. It sounds like a fun place to learn

Dr Bob:

how it's a very well, planned communities. Pretty neat. I've been here for I've been practicing in my location for 33 years.

debbie:

Wow, you really must know your stuff. And where are you

Dr Bob:

from? I really, you know, practice doesn't make perfect it makes permanent but yeah, I do i because I'm enthusiastic about what it is. Patients and so forth.

debbie:

So we were discussing how you can look into someone's eyes doc and see their soul basically their personality, make a judgment about them based on how their eyes are speaking back.

Dr Bob:

You know, you know, let me make a statement because I was talking to chuck it sounds like a bunch of crap. But thank you for that. No, but no, but I need to I want to clarify something. Now looking at the eyes and seeing their soul, but see how well the eyes work together and seeing how organized which they are, and how well they can stay on task. Or they have to get up all the time on how much attention deficit there might be due to certain things, not the clarity, but the way the eyes coordinate together.

debbie:

Really, you can tell if somebody has like a thing problem with other things. Yeah, and

Dr Bob:

the other words that they have a learning problem or they have come sustaining focusing, I'm talking about individuals in I'm talking about individuals who don't really need their assets like in their 40s or low 40s or below, they might be able to see perfectly distance reading, but they can't sustain long periods of time. Oh, my God, I get no way.

debbie:

You could save a lot of nobody knows the steps and families from aggregation if you if they knew

Dr Bob:

or know something is we tell you people to look up. If you tell your people, I can no hear me on this. I'll let you read our people. It sounds like sounds like some silicone balloons. We got people with it. Anyway, if you have put something and look up learning disabilities as related to vision, yes, you can see a lot of information I deal a lot with people who deal are gamers, you know, play the video games and so forth. And that's an extremely lucrative field because these kids are getting scholarships to schools that are entering competitions. It's like fortnight, New York. That price is $3 million for 16 year old. Wow. And the military is looking for this. So you want to see for example, people who

Luz Michelle:

next week video.

debbie:

Are we too old to sign up for the for the armed forces? Bob?

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

You know, when people talk about hand eye coordination, what right does that have anything to do with what you were just

Dr Bob:

really does hand eye coordination. For example, if you can't track a ball, for example, because I just don't see them all together. You might not be able to judge the depth of where it is. So that's a very much also there are people who have trouble coordinating left and right. As far as that's concerned, and you can see some of this within it the personnel but this is such an obscure area of vision and getting more obscure because a lot of the eye care professionals ophthalmology have question a lot of optometry is going to latch on to the pathology part you know the disease the glaucoma, diabetics, changes that occur in the eye but as far as function is concerned, to be able to sustain for long periods of time and reading without getting headaches or without getting

debbie:

like he's making

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

me cry.

debbie:

So making a point. I would my question is Doc, do most ophthalmologist check or say a child who's distracted a parent could bring them in and have their eyes checked for this?

Dr Bob:

Absolutely. No, no, I'm gonna tell you what to do. I'll get you want to do this have listened. This is important. Surely. There are doctors. There are doctors, Scotsman doctors. Listen to me in Spanish I also speak Spanish soap are all you don't say anything nasty to in Spanish or Yiddish?

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

No. Tengo la mia. No,

debbie:

these are Danish. We want to speak to God.

Dr Bob:

So that's Italian. Anyway, anyway, seriously, there's a thing. There's a doctors that practice and are credentialed by an organization I am not by the way, so I'm not tooting my own horn with this, called the College of optometrists, no cells, a COVID. College of optometrist in vision development ClD for short, they can find a doctor who is credentialed in that. In other words, they say the pot of CBD and you can call up I think their headquarters and find out who's the doctor in your area who practices this way. You get a lot more information. No ophthalmology knows nothing about nor do they pretend to about vision and function. All right, because

debbie:

that's important. And a lot of parents and grandparents are gonna appreciate that for kids who are struggling and shut up, Charlie.

Dr Bob:

It's one of the most it's an area Charlie. It's important because it's an area where I have dealt with people who have considered learning disabled, and you can go on to my YouTube channel, which is I talk with Dr. Bob That's EY e ta LK. Yeah. With Dr. Bob and I've had videos and people who were learning this the teacher said this kid is learning disabled. Meanwhile, 15 years later, 20 years later, the kid has his master's.

debbie:

Wow. Yeah. Because of the eye.

Dr Bob:

Eye. And, and the most important thing, guys, it has nothing to do with 2020. Okay, it has nothing to do with clarity.

Luz Michelle:

Got it? It's about what talent organization.

Dr Bob:

So that coordination of the eyes. It's about how vision is developed. I'm not gonna go into the details because Charlie keeps shutting me up with this and this really gets into stuff. But basically, visual is more than just 2020 a lot more than

debbie:

I have a question. about pickleball and why it's such a small core is that because people get older, can't see that far and they get nice and close together.

Dr Bob:

I have no idea. I just saw that for the first time. Yeah.

debbie:

This makes sense to

charlie:

me and Dr. Bob, thank you so much.

Luz Michelle:

Yeah, all right. Very informative. All right.

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

Well, what are we going to do? Information?

debbie:

I don't know. I learned something. All right. You guys may not have but I did. And Doc the state stay in touch you go. Have you finished your Danish and most people probably waiting a really long time.

Dr Bob:

Oh, my God. All right. Absolutely.

debbie:

Come on back sometimes. Dr. Bob,

charlie:

thank you. So

Dr Bob:

Charlie. Charlie invites me. I'll certainly do that. All right. Yeah.

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

Great to talk to you again.

debbie:

Thank you. Thank you,

Dr Bob:

guys. Take care. All the best. All right. See you. Bye, Charlie. Let me know when this comes out, too. All right. Well, you better know you're on my it's on my youtube but not YouTube. My Facebook fan pages. So I'm from New York. Yeah. So

debbie:

I never met an ophthalmologist who had so many fan pages.

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

It's unbelievable, isn't it? He sure saw the laser character, man. Yeah, he saw the way

Dr Bob:

these guys see my video with Gary Vee. Have

debbie:

you have you thought your own show? Do you have your own shot? Yeah,

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

he does. He does all these YouTube things. Okay, I gotta watch him because

Dr Bob:

YouTube but what I'm seeing is Gary, I did a video with Gary Vee always.

debbie:

Amazed. That's why we love you because you go.

Dr Bob:

Okay. Take care, guys. Bye.

Luz Michelle:

Bye. Well,

Charlie, Debbie, Luz:

that was Dr. Baugh.

debbie:

I think he made his Christmas list. Maybe Maybe I wanted to ask him. You know, the one thing that you can't do if you have eye surgery, which was really upsetting for means you can't wear makeup for a really long time. I like that. Yeah, well, good luck to you. But I could not help me out at all. I had a speaking engagement first time in like six years. Yeah, exactly like four days after the eye surgery where I couldn't wear makeup. And I was like, What am I gonna do about this? And they told me I couldn't wash my hair either are willing to show up with like a homeless person. Okay, that'd be really wherever I am. So I taped my head up like a bad Halloween movie, so I could wash my hair. And then I put on a really loud jacket, like really loud, like inappropriately loud for the morning breakfast speaker. I was in some low key town. And you know, Western Connecticut is not exactly leopard. So I showed up in a leopard jacket, black outfit, and I said listen, everybody, I'm so honored to be here. I had this little surgery. I can't wear any makeup. I wore this jacket so you wouldn't look at my face.

Luz Michelle:

I really I love the glasses now. Bailey Gucci.

debbie:

They give these to you when you walk out. Like come back to your little Jackie. Oh wish to make it? Yeah, I'll tell him. Yeah, yeah, these are great. Right?

Luz Michelle:

Let's all wear him next week.

debbie:

were what's the email address they
